Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an organophosphorus sulfonate ligand that can be used in a catalyst precursor for α-olefin oligomerization by allowing the ligand to have a specific naphthalene ring.
SOLUTION: This organophosphorus sulfonate ligand bears at least one of naphthalene ring that has two substituents, a trivalent phosphorus atom and a SO3M group (M is H, an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, NR4, PR4; R is H, a 1-15C hydrocarbyl) individually in different benzene nuclei from each other and in the adjacent positions to each other. The use of this organophosphorus sulfonate ligand enables economical oligomerization of ethylene to an α-olefin or co-oligomerization of ethylene and propylene to an α-olefin with higher catalyst activity in higher selectivity than those of conventionally used catalysts.
