PURPOSE: To obtain an orientating device for wood cut chips, which is capable of raising the orientating accuracy of wood cut chips, by using a system in which wood cut chips are orientated three-dimensionally by the vibration of a base plate and also by the action of moment originated from the uneven shape of the base plate. and sent on a feed conveyer.
CONSTITUTION: Wood cut chips 1 supplied quantitatively from a supply conveyer 2 are charged into the inlet 7 of a base plate 5 being vibrated, where the wood cut chips 1 are orientated for their longitudinal directions toward the direction of crossing the vibrating and feeding direction orthogonally. When the tips of the wood cut chips 1 are vibrated and collided on the convexed portions of the uneven form 10, they undergo a rotation moment in the widthwise direction of the unven form 10. The longitudinal direction of the wood cut chips 1 is orientated in the orthogonal direction to the vibrating and feeding direction while being regulated by the adjacent other wood cut chips 1 on the curved face in case where the uneven form 10 is of a wave form 11. Wood cut chips can also be moved on the feed conveyer 4 or a call plate 3 placed on the conveyer 4 under a condition that they are less dropped freely on the conveyer 4 and the plate 3.
