Abstract:
This oriented alumina sintered body has a curved surface portion, and the alumina particles of the curved surface portion are crystal-oriented in a normal direction of the curved surface portion. For example, in a cross section of the oriented alumina sintered body, when a normal line is drawn from at least three observation points on the curved surface portion, the percentage of the alumina particles having axes of orientation which are within ±15º relative to the normal line is preferably 60% or more. In determining the three observations points, it is preferable that, when the curved surface portion is seen in a plan view, the first observation point is the extreme point of a convex surface region or a concave surface region of the curved surface portion, and the other two observation points are midpoints between the extreme point and end points of the longest line segment drawn so as to pass the extreme point and intersect the outer edge of the convex surface region or the concave surface region of the curved surface portion.
