CONSTITUTION: At a device 1 to read the information of an original P by relatively moving the original P to a line sensor 140, the speed of moving the original P in the case of not reading the information is made higher than the speed of moving the original P in the case of reading the information. On the other hand, the original moving speed while moving the original P from a paper supply tray 320 to an information reading position A is made higher than the original moving speed in the case of reading the information. Then, the original moving speed in the case of ejecting the original is made higher than the original moving speed in the case of reading the information. Further, the speed of moving the original P to a position for enlarging and reading the original P in the case of enlarging and reading the arbitrary part of the original P is made higher than the original moving speed in the case of reading the information. Therefore, the waiting time of original reading can be shortened, and the feeling of use can be improved.
