PURPOSE: To attenuate noise in an audible range, by setting the material of a stationary unit for suppressing the movement of an oscillating unit to be the non-metal such as resin or the like.
CONSTITUTION: An oscillatory wave motor is composed of an elastic unit 1 as an oscillating unit, a ring-formed movable unit 2 consisting of a rotor main- unit 2A and a retaining plate 5, the oscillation absorber 6 of felt or the like, a pressure-applying mechanism 7, hollow retaining cylinders 8, 10, and the like. When cycle voltage is applied to an electrical-mechanical conversion element 3 via a printed board 6A and a progressive oscillatory wave is generated on the elastic unit 1, then the contact section of the rotor main-unit 2A comes in frictional contact with a pectinated contact section 1A set on the upper section of the elastic unit 1, and the rotor main-unit 2A is rotated together with the retaining plate 5. Besides, on a stationary unit 4, a projection 4A is formed and is engaged with the slit 1AA of said contact section 1A, and the stationary unit 4 is formed with the non-metal of resin or the like. As a result, frequency at the time of driving can be shifted to a high frequency range equal to or higher than an audible range.
