Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly discharge cooling water remaining inside a water jacket of a water-cooled engine after the usage of an outboard motor.SOLUTION: An outboard motor 1 has a water jacket 45 provided on a water-cooled engine; a first path 41 which communicates a downstream side end portion of a flow of cooling water of the water jacket 45 and the outside air; and a thermo valve provided between the downstream side end portion of the flow of the cooling water of the water jacket 45 and an upstream side end portion of a flow of the cooling water of the first path 41. The outboard motor 1 further has a second path 42 which communicates the upstream side of the flow of the cooling water of the thermo valve and the outside air; and a second valve 62 which opens/closes a second passage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
