Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lowering of output torque of an engine due to residual exhaust gas (residual EGR gas) immediately after switching of a fuel injection mode.
SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine is constituted such that a plurality of fuel injection modes set based on a different target air-fuel ratio are enabled to switch from each other. In this case, the internal combustion engine comprises an exhaust gas reflux device 200; a target exhaust gas reflux amount setting means 100 to set a target exhaust gas reflux amount differed with each fuel injection mode; and an output increasing means 400 to increase the output of an internal combustion engine. When a fuel injection mode is switched in a direction in which a target exhaust gas reflux amount set by the target exhaust gas reflux amount setting means 100 is decreased, the output increasing means 400 is constituted such to temporarily increase the output of the internal combustion engine.
