Abstract:
To provide an overcurrent protection system connected in series between an electric power supply source and an electric load and forming an operating circuit.
The overcurrent protection system comprises a control element 104, having a low resistance value RLowwhen a small current INORMALpasses to be switched to a high resistance value RFAULT, when the current passing therein is increased to a large current IFAULTfrom the INORMAL, and when the current INORMALpasses through the element 104, a circuit interrupting element 108 connected in series with the control element 104 and the element 108 which has a normal state, permitting the current INORMALpass through the system and fault state, permitting flow of a current smaller than the INORMAL, and a bypass element 106 connected in parallel with the series connected control element 104 and the circuit interrupting element 108 which is functionally connected to the circuit interrupting element 108 with it so as to be switched to fault state due to the increase of the current flowing through the concerned bypass element 106.
