Abstract:
To provide an overturn prevention device that facilitates retention of a contracted state, in spite of capability of appropriate installation by widely responding to difference of installation length.SOLUTION: The overturn prevention device 1 is installed between a piece of furniture F (article) and the ceiling C. The overturn prevention device 1 includes: a damper 10; an extension rod 20 (extension member); a locking member 30 (first locking member); and a pin 42 (second locking member). The damper 10, while being energized in the extension direction, expands and contracts by relative displacement of a cylinder 11 and a rod 12 to generate an attenuation force. The extension rod 20 is freely detachably connected to the bottom part of the cylinder 11. The locking member 30 is provided in the connection part between the extension rod 20 and the damper 10, with the one end of a compressing band 50 (fastening cord) locked which holds the damper 10 in a contracted state. The pin 42 is provided on the side opposite from the connection part between the extension rod 20 and the damper 10 across the damper 10, with the other end of the compression band 50 locked.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
