Abstract:
To provide a method for catalytic oxidation of an isoalkyl aromatic hydrocarbon with a ketone, alcohol and peroxide, and to obtain a catalyst for the reaction.
An isoalkyl aromatic hydrocarbon in the form of liquid phase is oxidized at 60-120°C in the presence of a catalyst composed of salt(s) of metal(s) with varied valence and an alkylammonium salt or alkylphosphonium salt. This catalyst is composed of metal salt(s) selected from copper salts, cobalt salts, manganese salts and mixtures thereof, and an alkylammonium salt or alkylphosphonium salt in the molar ratio of the metal salt(s) to the alkylammonium salt or alkylphosphonium salt of (0.5-50):1.
