Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method by which a deterioration in developer caused by oxidation is suppressed without the use of an additive, replenishing of developer and the use of a floating plate and to provide a new developing device to which the method is applied.
SOLUTION: In the method for preventing a deterioration in performance of developer caused by oxidation in a film automatic developing device, minus ions are supplied to at least either the surface of the developer or into the developer. An automatic film developing device is provided with a minus ion discharging section 12 used to discharge minus ions into a space inside a developing device chamber 16 that includes a developing pail 4 into which the developer is filled. Thus, the deterioration in the developer caused by oxidation is easily prevented without the use of an additive or the like.
