Abstract:

To provide a method of manufacturing carbonate crystal of needle shape longer than before and to provide an oxide cathode using the carbonate crystal, and its manufacturing method.

Carbon dioxide is made to flow into water solution of nitrate of an alkali earth metal and aqueous ammonia is mixed. The supply amount of carbon dioxide, the amount of aqueous ammonia added, and the liquid temperature are established as appropriate, thereby carbonate crystal of the alkaline earth metal with a length over 20-30 μm is obtained. By using this very long carbonate crystal, oxide cathode is formed to obtain easily the oxide cathode with superior characteristics.
