Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an oxygen-capturing composition composed of a compound such as m-xylylenediamine having a specific skeleton structure, a transition metal compound and a phosphorus compound, and useful as a paint for preventing the rust of metals, oxidation of organic materials, for protecting from insects and molds, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The objective oxygen-capturing composition having remarkably improved oxygen-capturing performance and useful as a paint or packaging material effective for preventing the oxygen-induced rust of metals, oxidation or degradation of organic materials, for protecting from insects and molds, etc., can be produced by compounding (A) a compound having the skeleton structure of formula (R is H or 1-4C alkyl; (m) is integer of 3-5; (n) is integer of 1-3; m+n=6) (e.g. m-xylylenediamine) with (B) 1-10,000ppm (in terms of transition metal component) of a transition metal compound (e.g. cobalt stearate) and (C) 1-10,000ppm (in terms of phosphorus) of a phosphorus compound (e.g. trisodium phosphate).
