Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enhance catalytic activity at high temp. and to prolong the service life of a catalyst by coprecipitating alumina and noble metallic elements or the like and producing alumina contg. noble metal from this ppt. and thereafter depositing this alumina on the base material of a carrier. CONSTITUTION:After preparing a soln. contg. at least aluminum and noble metallic elements and coprecipitating alumina contg. alumina and noble metal from this soln., alumina contg. noble metal is formed from this ppt. Then a high-temp. combustion catalyst is produced by depositing noble metal-contg. alumina on the base material of a carrier. Metallic oxide and rare earth oxide are preferably blended in addition to the above-mentioned aluminum and noble metallic elements. The obtained catalyst has high activity in a range within about 800-1,500 deg.C and is the high-temp. combustion catalyst having long catalytic service life.
