Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable automatic uniform filling of particulate heat insulating material in the filling space inside a liquefied gas storage tank without applying vibration. CONSTITUTION:A vacuum pump 8 is connected to a space 4 between an internal tank 1 and external tank 2 of a liquefied gas storage tank 3 of double wall construction. The space 4 between the tanks is connected to a particulate heat insulating material tank 5 through a heat insulating material passage 9, and is connected also to a pressurizing gas storage tank 6 through a pressurizing gas feed passage 10. The particulate heat insulating material feed passage 9 is provided with a particulate heat insulating material filling valve 12, and the pressurizing gas feed passage 10 is provided with a gas pressurizing valve 13. With the vacuum pump 8 kept operating, the particulate heat insulating material filling valve 12 is opened for a specified time to feed particulate heat insulating material to the space 4 between the tanks. Then, the gas pressurizing valve 13 is opened for a specified time to feed dry gas stored in the pressurized gas storage tank 6 to the space 4. Such particulate heat insulating gas pressurizing process is repeated preset number of times.
