Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce an aberration in developing properties by forming potential distribution corresponding to a sensor pattern and an exposing quantity outside the image region of a photosensitive body, optically detecting the density of a developed toner pattern, specifying developing properties and controlling toner replenishment, etc. CONSTITUTION:Prior to the illumination of an original 100, the first half of the sensor pattern 104 is exposed with an exposing quantity F1, the second half is exposed with an exposing quantity F2, and the potential distribution corresponding to the sensor pattern 104 is formed outside the image forming region of the photosensitive body 105. The toner pattern where the potential distribution is developed is irradiated with the light beams of a lamp 109, and its reflected light is detected by a light receiving element 110, and the density of the toner pattern is optically detected. The developing properties of a developer are specified according to the detected result, the replenishing of the toner into the developer is controlled based on the properties, and one or more among control factors such as a photosensitive body electrifying current, the exposing quantity is controlled by a prescribed control mode. Thus, the aberration in the developing properties caused by the difference in the density of the sensor pattern can be reduced.
