PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve soil environment and enable an environment suitable for the growth of a lawn to be provided by scattering an agent comprising a porous formed material contg. perlite, zeolite, and a binder. SOLUTION: This agent comprises a porous formed material contg. 100 pts.wt. perlite, 5-50 pts.wt. zeolite, and 5-15 pts.wt. binder. The porous material may further contain a water-purifying agent (e.g. active carbon), a carbamate insecticide, etc., each in an amt. of 20-40 wt.%, and an antibacterial agent (e.g. propiconazole). Pref., the porous material is spheres having diameters of 5-10 mm or cylinders having diameters of 8-10 mm and lengths of 20-30 mm, has micropores with sizes lower than 6 μm for improving water absorption properties or with sizes of 6 μm or higher for improving water and air permeabilities, and has a density of 0.5-0.9 g/ml. Carboxymethylcellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, starch, a Stephen waste water concentrate, a pulp waste liq. concentrate, an alcohol fermentation waste liq., etc., are used as the binder.
