Abstract:

PURPOSE: To favorably tighten coiling and prevent a segment itself from being damaged by forming an air layer and a heat insulating layer on the outer surface of the segment body of an inner layer.

CONSTITUTION: The mandrel of a take-up machine for a strip is constituted by interconnecting with an inner mechanism so that plural segments 4 can be expanded and segmented into a circumferential direction. Then, the segments 4 are divided into outer layer parts 6 and an inner layer segment main body 7 in the circumferential direction. The air layer 9 and the heat insulating layer 8 are formed on the outer surface of the inner layer segment main body 7. Thus, the operation can be executed irrespective of expansion and contraction of the mandrel.
