PURPOSE: To provide an SF6 gas insulating breaker using a fiber reinforced resin insulating rod superior in cold thermal cycle and SF6 decomposition gas resistance.
CONSTITUTION: An SF6 gas insulating breaker is formed by using an insulating rod 1 composed of glass fiber reinforced resin 2, an electrical insulating material 3 which covers the glass fiber reinforced resin 2 and has rubber elasticity, and an electrical insulating material 4 being stable to SF6 decomposition product which covers the electrical insulating material having rubber elasticity. The electrical insulating material stable to SF6 decomposition product protects glass fiber reinforced resin material 4 from SF6 decomposition product so that the rod has higher SF6 decomposition gas resistance than a glass reinforcing resin insulating rod which is not covered with the electrical insulating material 4 stable to SF6 decomposition gas. Use of this insulating rod 1 helps to provide such as SF6 gas insulating breaker that is improved in its safety without any change in apparatus structure.
