PURPOSE: To provide an optical fiber-producing apparatus capable of improving production efficiency of an optical fiber by preventing a resin liquid from flowing into a curing device even if the optical fiber is broken during production of the optical fiber.

CONSTITUTION: This optical fiber producing apparatus has heaters 2... for producing an optical fiber by subjecting an optical fiber preform to melt spinning, coaters 3 and 6 for applying a resin liquid to the optical fiber obtained using the heaters 2... and curing devices 4 and 7 for curing the resin liquid applied to the optical fiber. In the apparatus is provided with resin-receiving members 13 and 13 and simultaneously, a breakage detector 11 for detecting breakage of the optical fiber during production in the latter stage of the coaters 3 and 6 and the resin-receiving members 13 and 13 are moved to the downward direction of coaters 3 and 6 when the optical fiber is broken.
