Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject water-based hair dye composition having adequate fluidity when applied to the hair while having such favorable variable viscosity characteristics as to gradually rise in viscosity after applied to the hair and not to drip or flow off the hair. CONSTITUTION: This composition is made up of (A) an oxidative hair dye composition containing about 5-10wt.% of a 18-22C fatty acid, an alkaline agent in an amount enough to neutralize the fatty acid and bring the final composition to pH 8.5-11.5 and about 1.25-5wt.% of a 12-22C aliphatic alcohol and (B) an oxidative hair dye developer composition containing about 10-15wt.% of at least one kind of alkoxylated alkylphenol with a HLB value of about 9-11.5 or a number of the above phenols with a composite HLB value of about 9-11.5 and about 1.5-6wt.%, in terms of anhydrous hydrogen peroxide, of a hair dye oxidizing agent. The composition having the above-mentioned effects is obtained by putting the components A and B into separate containers and by mixing them together just before use into the final oxidative hair dye composition.
