PURPOSE: To provide an attractive, conspicuous, rigid and practical package made of plastics material including fluorescent dye by a method wherein the package is constituted in such a way that light produced by the material due to its fluorescent characteristic responding to its surrounding light is preferentially emitted from one or more selected portions of the package.

CONSTITUTION: Upright sections 3 and 4 are arranged at a base section 2. The base section 2 is formed of plastics material. A lid section 1 is formed of plastics material such as polymethyl methacrylate, polystylene, acryl or polycarbonate materials containing one or more fluorescent plastic dyes. Almost all light generated by fluorescent light produced in response to the surrounding light is enclosed within the material and the light is emitted out of the material when the light is scattered. Since the light scattering is automatically produced at some sharp edges of the material, the lid 1 may produce intensified light from around the sharp edges. The light is seen bright due to an effect of intensified emitted light caused by the light emitted from a smaller lid region as compared with an entire light collecting/fluorescent volume.
