PURPOSE: To carry out a contraction-forming to a packaging sheet, which is located between a wrapping-in member and an article to be packaged, on the surface of the article to be packaged without sag by a method wherein a plurality of wrapping-in members, which are arranged on the outer side of a receiving table, are formed into an articulated shape approximately along the vertical side surface of the article to be packaged.
CONSTITUTION: The upper ends of respective wrapping-in members 6 are arranged radially under a supporting plate 3, and are linked with a plural types of horizontal driving bodies 51 which protrude to the radial inward direction with a time differential, to be free to bend respectively. Also, by connecting the upper and lower ends of a plurality of connecting pieces 42 on respective wrapping-in members 6 to pins 43 respectively and aligning them in a longitudinal row, the wrapping-in members 6 have an articulated structure which is free to bend along the approximately global shaped outer peripheral surface of an article to be packaged C when a contraction- forming is given to the packaging sheet in such a manner that the packaging sheet is made to follow the outer peripheral surface of the article to be packaged. By this method, the packaging sheet can beautifully cover the article to be packaged C along the global shaped surface of the article to be packaged C.
