To provide a packaging material convenient to use instead of a box for packaging a long object such as a long product or a long article.

The packaging material comprises a composite sheet comprising at least one layer of corrugated wavy sheet 15 and at least one layer of flexible smooth sheet 14 which are laminated and stuck. At least one weakened portion 20 is formed over a full length of the composite sheet in a direction perpendicular to the corrugated portions applied on the wavy sheet, so that the composite sheet can be folded along the weakened portion 20 perpendicularly to its lengthwise direction. At the time of use, the packaging material is drawn out of a roll and cut into a packaging material 12 of a required length, and an object to be packaged is wrapped with the material 12, and the material is folded via the weakened portion 20 to package the object.
