To provide a packaging method and a packaging apparatus for a metallic coil for safely and efficiently completing work without a possibility that a worker goes back and forth under the coil in covering the outer peripheral face of the coil with a dampproof sheet, etc.
In the packaging method for a metallic coil and the packaging device used for the same, air is supplied by a bottom air nozzle to the neighborhood of the end of a packaging material hanging down from the upper part through a feeding mechanism facing the front face of the coil lifted by a lift for the end of the packaging material to be sent to the back face of the coil through its bottom face by the air pressure. Air is supplied by a top air nozzle to the neighborhood of the back end part of the packaging material hanging down from the top through the feeding mechanism for the back end part of the material to be sent to the back face of the coil through its top face by the air pressure. Each back end part and the end part of the material covering the outer peripheral face of the coil is then fastened.
