A packaging system 1 for pillow bags 2 for coffee or other consumable products which generate gasses includes a container assembly into which a triangle-shaped insert 5 is disposed so as to reduce a space at the top portion of a container 4. This insert 5 prevents excessive swelling in the headspace of each bag and also reduces the possibility of damage, which may occur to each bag, by eliminating movement of the bags in the container during transport.
