To provide uniform compression at a fixed compressibility by burying a plurality of hard compression limiting pieces in a ring-like packing spacedly from each other in the circumferential direction of the packing and for leaving packing compression allowance more shortly than the thickness of the packing.

This packing 1 is formed into a ring-like shape out of natural rubber or the like, and formed with a pluralty of bolt holes 2 in the circumferential direction. Hard compression limiting pieces 3 are uniformly dispersedly burried between the bolt holes. The compression limiting piece 3 is formed out of material having rigidity not self-broken by ordinary bolt fastening force, for example metal or the like. The form is desirable to be columnar, but the other form can be also used. The pieces are buried while leaving botton parts 4a of thickness (t) in the packing 1, so that when the packing 1 reaches the compression limit, sealing performance of the packing 1 can be sufficiently insured by compression of the other part. Namely, they are buried more shortly than the thickness of the packing 1 for leaving packing compression allowance.
