PURPOSE: To easily perform paper jamming restorating operation and to control a page printer so as to enhance printing efficiency, by controlling the stop operation of each element of a printer mechanism part corresponding to a paper jamming position and making it possible to determine a re-printing start page.
CONSTITUTION: When paper jamming is generated in a paper feed part, each element continues operation until all of the preceding papers pass through a printing process to be discharged. In this case, after the restoration of paper jamming, re-printing is performed from the head of a page where paper jamming is generated. When paper jamming is generated in a paper delivery part, the operation of each element in a printer is instantaneously stopped. In this case, a plurality of papers (max. M-pieces of papers) remain in the printer in a printing uncompleted state. The remaining of these papers calls attention to an operator and all of the papers remaining in the printers are removed by the operator. After the restoration, a system control part 3 starts re-printing retrospectively by M-pages from the page subjected to writing at the time of the generation of paper jamming.
