PURPOSE: To obtain a paint composition which can form a colored dot pattern of an appearance of a high quality by a simple process without detriment to the properties of the paint film itself, by adding aqueous organic gel particles containing a pigment or/and a dye to an organic solvent-based paint.
CONSTITUTION: A paint composition for forming a colored dot pattern is obtained by adding aqueous organic gel particles containing a pigment or/and a dye to an organic solvent-based paint. Fine colored irregularities can be formed on the surface of the shrunk and fixed paint film when said gel particles form the film, while when the water is evaporated from the aqueous organic gel particles, the water vapor agitates the paint film surface and forms additional fine irregularities to form a paint film of a complicated colored dot pattern of an appearance of a high quality. Further, the color, pattern, gloss, etc., of a film of this composition can be freely controlled by suitably mixing said aqueous organic gel particles containing a pigment or/and a dye with said aqueous organic gel particles free of such colorants. Furthermore, this composition difficultly undergoes sedimentation or agglomeration because it does not contain any paint particles and resin particles as an agent for forming a color pattern unlike a conventional paint of this kind.
