To provide a painting head cleaning device capable of obtaining a foreign matter-free and evenly painted surface by removing an excessive painting solution attached to the tip of a painting head and a method of the same.
The cleaning device 6 with the painting head 7 comprising a dye coating-type painting device, wherein the device is provided with a cleaning sheet 9 unwound from an unwinder 8 and wound by a winder 14 while contacting with tapered sections 2a, 2b in the tip of the painting head, cleaning solution supplying pipes 10a, 10b to impregnate the sheet 9 with a cleaning solution and wiping blocks 11a, 11b to wipe out an excessive painting solution at the sections 2a, 2b in the tip of the painting head while allowing blocks 11a, 11b to contact the sheet 9, one roll of the cleaning sheet 9 comprises one sheet of cleaning sheet 9, and both sides of the painting head are cleaned by the device 6.
