PURPOSE: To obtain a painted food excellent in clearness, useful in the food sector by heating the whole package form prepared by putting a food expandable by heating into a packaging container provided inside with printed images comprising an edible ink.

CONSTITUTION: The inner surface of a packaging container 2 consisting of e.g. metal or plastic is provided with printed images 1 comprising an edible ink (e.g. monascus), and a food 3 expandable by heating (e.g. primarily fermented bread dough) is put at a position facing to said images. The resultant whole packaged form 5 is then heated with e.g. microwaves, effecting expansion of the food 3 and resulting in adhesion between the images 1 and the food 3, thus obtaining the objective painted food.
