Abstract:
To optimally maintain the amount of a solvent included in a coating material at coating on a workpiece without being influenced by temperature change in the coating chamber of a coating apparatus, and also to optimally maintain an evaporation rate of the solvent after coating on the workpiece to obtain a good-quality coated surface.SOLUTION: A coating apparatus comprises: a spray gun 2 for spraying a coating material; a coating material supply means 3 supplying the coating material to the spray gun 2; an air supply means 5 supplying air for spraying the coating material supplied to the spray gun 2; a temperature control means 7 for controlling the temperature of the coating material sprayed from the gun 2 to a prescribed level; a temperature detection means 10 detecting the ambient temperature around at least a workpiece. The apparatus makes it possible to stabilize the amount of a solvent included in the coating material when applied on the workpiece, and the evaporation rate of a solvent after coating on the workpiece by controlling the temperature control means 7 on the basis of the detection temperature by the detection means 10 to control the temperature of the coating material sprayed from the gun 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
