Abstract:

To provide a palladium-containing supported catalyst for manufacturing α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid from olefin or α, β-unsaturated aldehyde, which has high yield of α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid per mass of the supported catalyst, to provide a manufacturing method of the palladium-containing supported catalyst, and to provide a manufacturing method of α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid, which has high yield of the α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid per mass of the supported catalyst.

The palladium-containing supported catalyst is made by supporting palladium on an inorganic oxide carrier and is used for manufacturing α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid by oxidizing olefin or α, β-unsaturated aldehyde in a liquid phase with molecular oxygen, wherein average micropore size of the inorganic oxide carrier is 2 to 8 nm, mass of the supported palladium is 0.12 to 1 pt.mass with respect to the inorganic oxide carrier 1 pts.mass and average particle size of the supported palladium is in the range of 1 to 8 nm.
