To provide a panel device which is not particularly increased in rigidity of the panel and can prevent deflection of the panel when the panel is moved.

A panel 2 is supported by a pair of coupling arms 27 at lower right and left side edges and a pair of coupling plates 10 at upper central portions. The coupling arms 27 are moved along a vertically arranged first guide rail 13 by means of a lower side moving chain 24, and the coupling plates 10 are moved along a horizontally arranged second guide rail by means of an upper side moving chain 36. A driving force from a motor 41 is distributed to both the chains 24, 36 by a differential device 51. In this case, a bending load is applied particularly on the central portion of the panel 2 as the panel 2 is moved from an originally erected location to a refuge location. However, the central portion of the panel 2 is supported by the coupling plates 10, and therefore stress to the bending load can be applied, which can contribute to improvement of the strength of the panel 2.
