Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a paper binding device designed to restrict, with an extremely low-cost and simple configuration, a tear that may occur at the root of a tongue piece when the tongue piece is bent, in a paper binding mechanism in which the tongue piece, formed in a bundle of sheets paper, is bent by a U-shaped cutting blade and inserted into a slit punched by a slitting blade and thus the bundle of sheets of paper is bound.SOLUTION: An edge line of the lower opening 83Aa of a lower-surface guide 83A, on which a bundle of sheets of paper to be bound is placed, has a narrow part 83Ab on the bent side of a cutting blade 89 to be inserted. The edge line also has a wide part 83Ac wider in opposite space than the open side of the inserted cutting blade 89 and the narrow part 83Ab. In addition, the cutting blade 89 has a sharpened head part 89a-2 formed by sharpening the cutting edge in the direction of the thickness of the plate-like member at an acute angle on the bent side. The cutting blade 89 also has a non-sharpened head part 89a-1 having a flat or curved face of predetermined width in the thickness direction of the plate-like member on the open side of the cutting edge.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15
