PURPOSE: To eliminate the deviation of transfer caused by the faulty elimination of the bend of paper by providing a paper feeding control part releasing the nip of the paper by a paper feeding roller pair in the case the leading edge of the paper enters a fixing roller pair.

CONSTITUTION: The paper feeding control part M53 measures time required to allow the leading edge of the paper to enter the fixing roller pair M32 from carrying the paper again, and retreats a driven roller M312 from a paper carrying path M3, thereby releasing the nip of the paper by the paper feeding roller pair M31 when the leading edge of the paper enters the roller pair M32. Therefore, the paper is mainly carried only by the fixing roller pair M32, and the flexure formed on the paper is absorbed by the roller pair M32 without setting the circumferential speed of the roller pair M32 high even in the case of using the paper of minimum size. Thereafter, the paper is successively carried to an ejection roller pair M35 side, and the paper on which an image has been fixed is ejected to the outside of a device main body 1 from the roller M35 through an ejection port 1b.
