Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take a corrective action against jamming more promptly without tearing paper or doing damage to a branching pawl in taking a corrective action against jamming.
SOLUTION: A supporting member 20 involves a first fulcrum 21 and a second fulcrum 22 rotating the supporting member itself. A fitting part (retaining part) 25 is formed at a guide plate 12 secured on an opening/closing cover, and the elastic member of the supporting member 20 is engaged therewith. When the opening/closing cover is opened, a branching pawl and the supporting member 20 are also opened with the fulcrum 22 centered. When a jammed paper sheet exists on the right of the branching pawl, the elastic member gets out of the fitting part 25, so that the opening/closing cover is opened without movement of the branching pawl and the supporting member 20.
