PURPOSE: To improve the dimensional stability of electrically conductive base paper and to enable both side recording by forming dielectric layers on both sides of the base paper.
CONSTITUTION: Dielectric layers are formed on both sides of electrically conductive base paper. By forming the dielectric layers, the expansion or shrinkage of the paper due to a humidity change is reduced, and no difference is caused between both sides to prevent curl, so the dimensional stability is improved, and both side recording is enabled. The base paper is obtd. by coating or impregnating one side or both sides of paper with an electrically conductive composition prepd. by adding an org. polyelectrolyte and/or a metallic oxide semiconductor to a polymer binder. The polyelectrolyte and/or the semiconductor may be added and/or stuck by size pressing in a paper making stage. The base paper is made from pulp beaten to ≤500cc Canadian standard freeness, and it has ≥0.95g/cm3 density, ≥20" smoothness and 5×106W5×109Ωcm volume resistivity.
