Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device and a paper feeding method capable of positively removing skew of a sheet and thereby allowing the printing to be performed in the correct direction to the sheet.
SOLUTION: A driving control part 30 rotates a paper feeding roller 1 and a paper feed roller 2 to feed a sheet P to the paper feed roller 2. After that, the driving control part 30 stops the paper feeding roller 1 at the time when the tip of the sheet P is slightly passed through a gap-pressure part of the paper feed roller 2, and skew-removing operations for reversing the paper feed roller 2 by a specified amount of rotation are repeated several times. By repeating the skew removing operations several times, the skew of a hard-to- deflect sheet can be completely or almost removed, and thus, thereafter the printing can be performed in the proper direction to the sheet.
