PURPOSE: To pinch the copying paper for sure by constituting so that the diameter ratio between a lower roller and an upper roller of the paper feed roller is made 1:3W1:5 and the axis of the upper roller is inclined against the axis of the lower roller by 30°W50° on this side of the conveyance direction of the copying paper.

CONSTITUTION: A paper feed roller pair 6 consists of a lower roller 4 and an upper roller 5, and an intermediate plate 7 placed at the bottom in a cassette 1 is pushed up by a push-up member 8 so that the copying paper on the intermediate plate 7 is pressed to the lower roller 4. The axis C2 of the upper roller 5 is inclined against the axis C1 of the lower roller 4 by α(30°W50°) in relation to the vertical direction y on this side of the paper feed direction, and the diameter d2 of the upper roller 5 has a relation of d2>d1 (d1:d2=1:3W1:5) compared with the diameter d1 of the lower roller 4.
