PURPOSE: To enable the automatic and stable register adjustment of a sheet by providing a first and a second folding parts mutually orthogonal in the folding directions, a sheet direction changing part, a sheet pull-in means, a register adjusting means, and a sheet delivery means.
CONSTITUTION: A paper folding device 30 is provided with a first folding part for folding a sheet 31 in the first direction; a second folding part 36 for folding the sheet 31, folded by the first folding part 34, in the second folding direction orthogonal to the first direction; and a sheet direction changing part 35 for changing the direction of the sheet 31 discharged from the first folding part 34. The sheet 31 folded by the first folding part 34 is pulled into the sheet direction changing part 35 by pull-in rollers, and the register adjustment of the sheet 31 pulled into the sheet direction changing part 35 is performed by register adjusting rollers. The sheet 31 register-adjusted by the register adjusting rollers is delivered to the second folding part 36 by delivery rollers.
