To provide a paper sheet counting and sorting machine equipped with stackers which can be added easily, thereby improving workability.
The paper sheet counting and sorting machine 1 includes: a machine body 9; a hopper 5 disposed in the front lower part of the machine body 9; a plurality of stackers 11 disposed at the front of the machine body 9; a delivering part 15 for delivering paper sheets placed in the hopper 5; a first conveying part 19 for conveying the delivered paper sheets to any one of the plurality of stackers 11 in the first conveying direction which is the same as the delivering direction, and conveying them to the left side X1 of the machine body 9 by changing the direction at 90° from the first conveying direction; a reading part 16 for reading information of the delivered paper sheets; a discriminating part 17 for discriminating the kinds of the paper sheets based on the read information; a sorting part 18 for controlling the first conveying part 19 so as to sort the paper sheets to the stackers 11 or added stacker units 3 and 4 based on the discrimination result; and a control part 22 for counting the number of paper sheets sorted to each stacker 11.
