To provide a means for reducing the labor of an operator without impairing the preciseness of paper money counting results in a paper money arrangement device.

A paper money arrangement device 2 conveys and accumulates paper money accepted by an input part 4 in a temporary accumulation part 12 according to designated denominations, and the fraction number of sheets which is less than the number of sheets of bundling of the accumulated paper money is counted by a fraction number of sheet count area 53, and when the fraction number of sheets reaches the number of sheets of bundling, the paper money of the number of sheets of bundling is bundled into small bundles by a paper money bundling part 15, and the opening of a door is detected by a door opening and closing detection sensor 18 during the stop of the conveying operation of the conveyance path 6, and when the non-existence of the paper money whose existence has been detected by an accumulated paper money detection sensor 13 is detected, the extraction of the fraction number of sheets of paper money accumulated in the temporary accumulation part 12 is detected, and the fraction number of sheets counted by the fraction number of sheet count area 53 is stored as the number of sheets of return.
