To reduce material costs, lighten load on paper money and improve durability.
The device is equipped with a temporary retaining part 2 and a paper money receiving/pushing-down means. The temporary retaining part 2 drops the paper money when the money taken in becomes a predetermined number of sheets. The paper money receiving/pushing-down means has two parallel pivots on the level surface with an interval smaller than the paper money width. It is always lowered to the position pushing the paper money of the paper money loading part, receives the money dropped down from the temporary retaining part on the pivots at the lifted position, and then returned to the paper money pushing-down position. After the paper money receiving/pushing-down means receives the paper money, the paper money moves between the pivots of the paper money receiving/pushing-down means which is returned to the paper money pushing-down position. The paper money pushing-down means pushes down the paper money placed on the pivots toward the direction of the paper loading part along with the lifting of the paper money receiving/pushing-down means. The control means controls retaining operation and falling operation of the temporary retaining part, lifting/lowering of the paper money receiving/pushing-down means, and pushing-down/returning operation of the paper money pushing-down means in a predetermined order.
