A paper sheet handling apparatus (100) includes a movable unit (20) that changes a size of a taking-out space (S) by moving in a direction (D) of approaching a paper sheet (B) discharged to the taking-out space (S) and a direction (D) of retreating the paper sheet, in which the movable unit (20) includes a movable unit main body (21) and a pressing unit (21) movable to a storage position (P1) where the pressing unit (21) is moved along the movable unit main body (21) and a pressing position (P2) where the pressing unit (21) presses the paper sheet (B).
