A money receipt processor 1 is provided with a put-in part 5 for collectively putting in a plurality of bills P, an attitude correcting device 10 for correcting the transport attitude of the bill P taken out of the put-in part 5 onto the transport path 6, and a detecting part 7 for detecting the feature of the bill P whose transport attitude is corrected to a proper attitude. Thus, the transport attitude of the bill P is corrected immediately before the detecting part 7, whereby the detecting region for the bill P in the detecting part 7 can be narrowed so as to reduce the size of the detecting part 7.
