When a paper sheet return signal is outputted, the paper sheet P is oppositely conveyed to the insert port 3 or when there is any paper sheet housing signal such as a housing signal from the main body of an automatic vending machine or a detecting signal detecting the insertion of the next paper sheet at the paper sheets processor, for example, the paper sheet P is conveyed up to the housing standby position faced across from a paper sheets housing box 4. Thus, since the paper sheets are returned at the holding position before the paper sheets housing standby position, mechanism parts such as a press roller can be eliminated, and the next paper sheet can be also received from the paper sheet insert port 3.
