At the time of accumulation, a stopper plate 17 is lowered into a specified descent position by its own weight so as to close a conveying path between a rear fence 11a and a paper feed roller 15. When a paper sheet sheaf P of the specified number of sheets is stacked on a table 13, the table 13 is moved up around a fulcrum 12. The table 13 is lifted with the right side up in the state of holding the paper sheet bundle P between an idling roller 14 and the paper feed roller 15, and the right end part of the paper sheet bundle P faces the conveying path above the rear fence 11a and pushes up the stopper plate 17 to open the conveying path. When the paper feed roller 15 is rotated in a paper feed direction, the paper feed roller 15 batch-feeds the paper sheet bundle P to the lower reaches via the conveying path in cooperation with the idling roller 14.
