PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for replacing the address cards for which time and labor are heretofore required and to eliminate the laboriousness of code identification by assigning and displaying the necessary addresses of all the address information corresponding to respective stacking boxes for postal matter, etc., in a storage section by switch operations.

CONSTITUTION: Display sections (electronic display devices) 8.1... which display the addresses necessary for classification are provided in correspondence to the respective stacking boxes 5.1... of the constitution to read the code information attached to paper sheets 2, such as postal matter, and to classify the same to the stacking boxes 5.1... by addresses when the addresses to be classified are instructed to a transferring section 3. Further, the storage section to store plural sets of the address information corresponding to the above-mentioned stacking boxes 5.1... and to output the address information instructed by an instructing section (switch) 6a is provided. A control signal section 7 which sends the address information to the above-mentioned display sections 8.1... and the addresses to be classified to a computer to instruct the transporting section 3 is provided. The addresses of the stacking boxes 5.1... are selected by the changeover with the switch 6a in such a manner and the addresses assigned in the storage section 6 are taken out.
