PURPOSE: To prevent skewing of a sheet by providing a lateral regulating portion brought into contact with the surface of a sheet taken out by taking-out means to regulate shifting in the direction crossing the take-out direction in a sheet storing portion of an automatic deposit machine.

CONSTITUTION: When a motor 17 and an electromagnetic clutch 16 are operated, a take-out roller 7 and a feed roller 12 are rotated so that a note P is introduced from a receiving box 2 to a transport apparatus 14. Even if skewing is about to occur due to the folded end portion of the note P, a regulating roller 8 is adapted to regulate movement in the direction crossing the direction of taking out the note P, and the note P is prevented from skewing to be taken out on a transport station 14 in a well-regulated state. An optical detector 24 detects the taken-out note P to demagnetize the electromagnetic clutch 16, so that the note P is transported by transporting force of the transport path 14. The thus constructed apparatus can prevent skewing of a paper sheet.
